Strategic Asia held the second discussion forum about “Corporate Social Responsibility: Conscience or Obligations.” Noke Kiroyan, The Director of Business Development Strategy of Strategic Asia, was the speaker. CSR is abut voluntary policy and action driven by business people and scholars who believe that business is accountable to stakeholders as well as shareholders. Sometimes regarded as another term of corporate philantrophy. In Indonesia is widely viewed as identical with community development.

Beside discuss about the development of CSR's concept in Indonesia, the forum also discussed about how democracy influence the process of policy making on CSR. The forum concluded that the government should give a clear definition about concept and values of CSR. They believe that CSR issue will always be discussed as long as people feel unpleasant to private sector contribution to the social community. Indonesia should give a balance proportion between public and private interests, so both of them can grow together. This matter should be arranged by a clear regulation.
